Epilog

It is now July of 2011 and I will attempt to give an update on all the men who at one time in their lives performed with the Windjammers, the Goodtimers, Hamilton Elliott & Walter, Elliott Walter & Bennett, the Elliott Walter Band, and Elliott & Walter.

Jack Wilcox (1964-66) performed for many years with THE SHOPPE, then worked as a realtor in Puyallup, Washington until recently.  He is very active with his Sunday School and serves on the Board of Trustees of his Church (Oberlin Congregational Church in Steilacoom, WA).  He enjoys part-time employment with the local school system as a bus driver.

Patrick Hamilton (1966-74) continued performing as Pat Hamilton and Company for a year or so and then auditioned for and got the part of the Governor in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas on Broadway where he toured many years as an actor.  He continued his career until his death on November 8, 1991.  Patricia Hamilton Pruitt lives in Midland, Texas.  Jennifer Hamilton Bingo (Pat's daughter) lives in San Francisco, CA and works for Oracle.

Roy Prince (1972-1974) (our only drummer) continued performing with Pat Hamilton until Pat went to Broadway.  I have tried to find him, but have not been successful yet!

Kenneth Elliott (1964) joined the US Marines and retired as a radar technician.  I believe he lives in Italy, Texas.

Mark Cozart (1983) I have been unable to find any information about him since he left our band.

Sam Barnes (1964) Performed many year at Disney World in Orlando.  I saw him once several years ago, but have lost track of him recently.

Gerald Bennett (1974-1983) Is now an officer at a financial services company.  I have talked to him on the phone several times, but he has not sent me any current biographical information.

Scott Landon (1983-1987) Continued to perform, but became very ill (Cancer) and died 10/15/1994 after heroic effort fighting his illness.

Jerrel Elliott (1963-1991) my best friend and business partner, died of a tragic gun accident 11/10/1991.
Cindy Elliott Wilford lives happily in Sugar Land, Texas.  Amy Elliott (Jerrel's daughter) lives near Los Angeles CA and works for TNT Television.  Scott Elliott (Jerrel's son) is married and is a lawyer with a law firm in Houston.  He has two beautiful daughters.

Clark Walter (1963-1991) is happily married to Martha for 43 years and counting.  Michael (son) is married and works for a computer/security company in Austin TX, but works mostly out of his home in San Marcos TX.  He and his wife, Amber, have two sons.   Steven (son) is married and until recently worked as a foley artist at Technicolor.  He is now a free-lance foley artist.  He and his wife, Melissa, live in Valencia, CA.  They have two sons.

Hello Clark and Martha - I read your blog about the days at McMurry College and thought I'd say hello and that I enjoyed hearing about all the guys in the band over the years. I currently live in San Diego, CA and haven't been in touch with very many folks from McMurry. Best of wishes to you both.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your blog. I was a dear friend of Pat Hamilton's back in our high school days in Big Spring, TX. I knew that Pat pursued his musical career and had even done a show on Broadway, but other than that, I really didn't know much. I graduated a year earlier than he did and went off to college and Texas Tech and marriage, and lost touch with him. I was truly was saddened to hear of his early death, and felt the World really lost a great entertainer when he passed away. I don't know if you will see this, since I am not sure if you are still "blogging", but if you do and you are...thanks for your pics and other memorabilia.

Clark,

Thank you for the epilog! I also went through your whole blog!

Kyle, Gayle and I were reminiscing last weekend about HEW and I thought I would search you out.

Of all the Northway kids I knew you the least and shortest, but was always so impressed by your kindness and sincerity. In the difficult times of my young adulthood I had often wondered what it would have been like if I had stayed in Houston and hung out with you more—really, you did impress me that much, and it wasn't just that you killed me in basketball!

Now nearly 40 years later my wife of thirty years and I live in Bakersfield, CA. We have two incredible daughters in Houston and an awesome son in living in L.A..

Clark, again thanks for the blog and it is great fun to hear all you have done.

Clark

I completely enjoyed your stories about the early days of your music career. I worked in Westbury Square (Al Betos Rest.)and we would always go over to the Village Inn after work for beer and HEW. What a hoot! A few years later after I got married, my wife Donna and I spent many evenings with our friends at Steak and Ale for more beer (do you sense a pattern here?) and EWB. Two of our favorites were Me Again Margaret and What a Cowboy Needs (???).

We were saddened by the early deaths of Pat and Jerrell but are glad to here that you are doing well. Thank you so much for sharing all of this on your blog and taking us down memory lane.

Take good care,

Hi Clark!!

Loved reading your blog! I always had fun watching your showws - I miss those days! I have a lot of great memories and I found some pictures of the band recently so I've been feeling pretty nostalgic.

I remember you introduced me to the Tomans when I first got to Houston and you told them to take care of me! Well, Pat, Joe and Beth live in Katy which is where I live so we run into each other occassionally. Your ears must be burnig - we were talking about you not too long ago.

Hope you are well and are enjoying retirement! Still, I'll always think of you with the hat on and a big smile on your face. I'm smiling now just thinking about it all!

You once told me "Somebody is really missing the boat on you". Well, I now have that "Somebody" found me. It took a little longer than I thought but we've been married for 22 years. Time flies! It's funny what you remember!

Miss you!
